Crochet dragon Christmas ornament pattern

The crochet dragon Christmas ornament is fun to make and really pops on your tree in the Year of the Dragon. Finished toy measures approximately 2.3 inches (6 cm). Please note, size depends on the yarn thickness and the hook size you choose.

Make two using green:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: (inc)* 6 times (12)

Rnd 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc)* 5 times, 1 sc (24)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc)* 6 times (30)

Fasten off the first piece but not on the second one.

Fasten off the first, after the second is made place both together and join together by doing 54 sc through both pieces, stuffing a little before the last few stitches. Then make ch 30, sl st. Hide the yarn tail inside the head.

Muzzle

With light green:
Make ch 4, start on the 2nd ch from hook.
Rnd 1: 2 sc, 3 sc in last st, turn, continue crocheting around the chain: 1 sc, inc (8)
Rnd 2: inc, 1 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc, 2 inc (14)
Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, (1 sc, inc)* 2 times, 1 sc, (1 sc, inc)* 2 times (20)
Rnd 4: 1 sc, inc, 3 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc)* 2 times, 3 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 1 sc (26)

Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.

Tongue

With red:
Make ch 3, start on the 2nd ch from hook: 2 sl st
Fasten off. Cut the yarns, leaving a short yarn tails.

Ears (make 2)

With light green:
(Make ch 4, start on the 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc)* 3 times
2 dec in foundation
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.

Spike

With green:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in a magic ring (4)
Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc)* 2 times (8)
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.

Assembly

Sew the muzzle to the head, put some fiberfill inside before you finish.
Glue the eyes above the muzzle.
Sew the ears to the head, the spike in the middle of the top head.
Embroider eyebrows and a mouth using a black thread.
Embroider nostrils using a green yarn.
Glue the tongue to the mouth.
